Inspiration of Astronomical Phenomena

"Sonne Sterne, Mond & Co." guesting at the 5th international conference "The Inspiration of Astronomical Phenomena" in Chicago.

In Berlin more than 50.000 young and adult earthlings have attended the 200 shows since the first performance 8 years ago. 2004 Sun, Stars, Moon & Co. has also gained international reputation. In the course of the Annual Meeting of the American Association of Teachers of German in Chicago the show has inspired not only the German language audience. The Director of the Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum, Chicago, Dr. Paul Knappenberger called the pedagogic idea of the production as worldwide unique and pointing the way ahead in the application area of planetariums. The children become playfully acquainted with the various phenomena of outer space. Furthermore the plot and the lyrics also convey to them the high importance of tolerance and cooperation between all cultures and individuals living together on the "blue planet".

After the huge success last year the transatlantic cultural bridging is about to be continued June 2005. Sun, Stars, Moon & Co. was selected to be the German contribution at the Inspiration of Astronomical Phenomena Conference in Chicago. Since 1994 INSAP explores the rich and various ways in which astronomical events inspire literary, visual, and performance arts. In the course of the conference 5 shows of Sun, Stars, Moon & Co. are scheduled at the Adler Planetarium on:

Saturday, June 25, 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm
Sunday, June 26, 1:30 pm and 5:00 pm
Monday, June 27, 11:30 am.
