Rap for the Sun with
The Man in the Moon

deck Steglitz - Three years after the opening night the musical "Sun, Stars, Moon & CO." is nearby as established as its performance place, the Planetarium at the Insulaner. The cosmic musical for children 6 years onwards is a co-production by the Leo-Borchard-Music-School Berlin Steglitz-Zehlendorf and the Planetarium of the Berlin district Schöneberg. By the means of live music, laser show, image projections and easy going lyrics the young spectators are taken to a one-hour journey to the moon in a virtual fun shuttle, where Jürgen F. Schmid as the “Man in the Moon” and the master of ceremonies presents the planets and the rest of the universe. When the band called “Rocking Meteoroids” and the “Man in the Moon” at the end of the show finally play their Rap for the Sun the audience in the Planetarium at the Insulaner regularly screams and clamors for encores.

Thus seemingly weightless the impartment of the scientific subjects of Astronomy is a great fun even for the kids stamped by television. And because this fact is well known since long ago, the weekdays-shows of "Sun, Stars, Moon & CO." are usually sold-out by school-classes many weeks in advance.

The Man in the Moon (background) leads the audience through the story, with dry ice and the band „Rocking Meteoroids".
